The current president and his poorly appointed cabinet are corrupted self serving politicians that care only for their own greed for power and favor for a president who care only for his own interests. They are a disgrace to our democracy and our constitution.

We are teetering on the verge of stage 4. The GOP is rigging elections (over 200 bomb threats in 2024 at democratic-leaning election sites is election interference and there’s so much more proof than that). Except for MTG and Massie, GOP elected officials do whatever Trump tells them. Due process and free speech are under assault, as are marginalized groups (queers, immigrants, women). Families are being ripped apart and fear/terror is the point. People are being detained and deported illegally. The press, media, law firms, and universities are under attack if they don’t toe the line. Corporations were “forced” to give up DEI & make huge donations to Trump. His family has made billions this year. He’s accepted bribes from other countries (Qatar). The military is being deployed on US soil and bombing people in international waters (highly illegal internationally). Federal employees are losing jobs and forced to take lie detector tests about “loyalty to the administration” (literally… I know people it’s happened to but it’s not being covered by the media) and federal grants are being illegally canceled. The Supreme Court is corrupt. Executive orders are given power when what they are mandating is actually up to Congress, not the president. I could go on and on! AIPAC and billionaires have paid off pretty much every single elected official (except for 6 of them). This isn’t representative of the people but of big money. Massive government coverups and lack of transparency.

But the People are rising up and pushing back. This is the sole reason we aren’t solidly in Stage 4 yet.

(I put “other” for party affiliation because I now consider myself a democratic socialist- I’m incredibly disappointed in the democrats, a party I’ve always considered myself a part of).

I believe we're relying on certain institutions (ie the DOJ) to uphold the characteristics of a strained democracy (as opposed to an unfair democracy), so far that hasn't broken but time will tell.

I feel like for the most part things are run smoothly. A little worse in Washington.
